THE BENEFITS OF LINING UP DUAL TE'S AND KEEPING SHOCKEY & BOSS

Our number #1 foe in the SFC east is Dallas, whom has two premier outside pass rushers in DeMarcus Ware and the other guy?

Call it an H-Back, Slant TE or whatever you like
it helps out against edge rushers especially one's that play the 3-4 as seen by the Patriots in the JFC champinship game against San Diego.

And it helps out our aging OLINE in the running game against 8 man fronts. And gives us another look!

I stand by my stance --> TO KEEP SHOCKEY OR NOT?
Keep Shockey use him in dual TE or as a slant back and continue to develope Boss in the more traditional TE!

TO TRADE SHOCKEY OR NOT?

the board and newspapers are heating up whether the GMEN should trade Shockey---->
It just kills me how a large percentage of the fans are even thinking trade. So much to be said for team loyalty, though we expect that from the players. Shock helped get us to where we are.

DON'T YOU KNUCKLEHEADS FORGET THAT!

So many of you make me sick with talk of trading Shock. Sit down and shut your pie hole!
Personally in my opinion, Shockey should be used as an offset the left tackle (H-back) the same way that Joe Gibb's Pigskins did in there glory days. And Boss as the more traditional tightend on the field at the same time!

Offcourse Shockey would be the more featured receiver............. and his run blocking dominace would help out greatly on off tackle to the left runs which suffered last season a bit with new LT David Diehl @ a new position

BUT, it is VERY REAL!

http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/2008/02/14/giants-gm-jerry-reese-jeremy-shockey-is-our-starting-tight-end/#comments

In conclusion this writers opinion is:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Boss cannot sit because he has to develope , better with Shockey around than NOT. If you have read my posts here, You would know I'm more FOR KEEPING Shockey than trading him@!

. However if I choose between the two of
(the soon to be even larger contract of Shockey) .............or the developing young Boss

I choose Boss for his ethics teamwork his potential , his chemistry with Eazy-E
and the fact not only because his number is #89 but his resemblance IN PLAY to Bavaro!

***
Shockey would dominate as an H-Back it would show he's a team player not a me guy, and it isn't so that much different than being a TE, and it would give us another offensive formation on the field or another look if you will.

........***And it would help our offensive line which is getting older and no true dominant knock down blocker other than Snee and Mckenzie on the right side!

UNSUNG HERO'S

UN SUNG HERO'S

"the party is over the Superbowl was great all time, But It's time to maintain and build for the future boy's---------------->

1) Kawika Mitchell, was in almost every big tackle in every big spot

2) Derrik Ward, carried the running game, mid-early season when Jacobs got hurt, and in my opinion was a better goal line RB than Drouhgns

3) Fred Robbins and Barry Cofield, both were instrumental in stopping the opposing running game and got some pressure and sacks in key situations

4) Chase Blackburn, although not as "X's and O's" smart as any of the other LB's spearheaded the special teams unit

5) Corey Webster, shouldnt be overlooked even if we get a stud corner via draft/ free agency very useable and physical corner and a very good 3rd corner for the future

Most overated

1) Jeremy Shockey, team seemed to gel and be cohesive after he left with injury , never really has lived up to his immense potential. Has had his mommtnts!!! But can be so much better , I'm not giving up on him!

2) Brandon Jacobs , I really try to like him want him so badly to be a franchise RB but he plays the position like a LBer basically diving into would be tacklers with all his might instead of lowering the shoulder and boom and keep moving on? If he wanted to play LB'er he should've played LB'er

I do not give up on him

3) David Diehl, very rarely did the GIANTS run off left tackle and he seemed to struggle in run blocking game and with bull rushers, however it was his first full season at LT needs to improve on decent yet lackluster 1st season!

He's a team player and a good guy, however he will be looking over his shoulder if he doesn't progress

RATE YOUR GMEN

A+, A, A-, B+,B,B-,C+,C,C-,D+,D,D-,F

QB's

QB. ELI MANNING =( B-) still needs to be more consistant ,run more rollouts maybee

QB JARED LORENZSE= (D+) this grades based more on potential then playing time as he didnt play much at all but when he has has a habit of looking down and making his throws to the ground and pocket precence is poor as he hurrys and sees the rush

QB Anthony Wright =(D+)= not the answer a little better field general then Lorenzen but lacks the arm better technique however

RB's

RB Brandon Jacobs (C+)= immense potential 6'4" 275 4.5, speed can break tackles however runs into traffic way too much almost as if he tackling the tacklers like a LB'er with all his might to punish them thus takinh him off his feet altogether too much for a big fast man,
click here for full evalutation --> THE KNOCK ON JACOBS

Im conclusion he needs to run lower his shoulder work on his balance in offseason , be more patietnt also, for two way goe's and lower the shoulder and keep moving and stop diving into tackles

RB Ahman Bradshaw (A)= unlimited potential in limited action, fights for extra yardage carrying 300 pound tackles on his back refusing to drop knee which may result in injuy in future.

He has shown although to be durable, great hands runs draws very well and runs offtackle well, attacks the corner well dangerous in open spaCE

RB Derrik Ward (B)= has a nose for the goal line sees the field well decent cuts but isnt bradshaw decent power but isnt Jacobs uses his power better than Jacobs however, may be expendable as he is UFA and position is loaded

RB Reuben Droughns (D+)= excelled in special teams and blocking out of the back field has limited carries so really cant judge him but in those limited carries and goal line situations he hasn't been impressive.

Madison Hedgecock (B+) = excellent blocker out of backfield does his job but limited in any other offensive aspect

TE's

Jeremy Shockey (C-) dispapointing season ended in broken leg needs to be more in sync with play calling , run better routtes, but is a force in running game may be best suited as a offset tackle or as as Hback or fullback
Click here for full evaluation --> SHOCKEY

Kevin Boss (B+) reminencent of and old numbr #89 with 45 yard catch in superbowl

GIANT of a man at 6'7" 265 long arm span.... blocks out safteys well with his size runs great routtes as is only a rookie

Micael Matthews (C+) one dimensial role player blocks for running game used on goal; line situations not much else

WR's

Plaxico Buress (A) played hurt all season was regular season MVP in my opinion, a true gamer, slowed towards the end of season other wise grade would've been an (A+) and not just an (A)

Amani Toomer (A+) made crucial drops during season but when the time to turn it on was there was as clutch as anybody the all important (x) reciever that makes the offense go

Steve Smith (A) took alot of pressure off both Toomer and Plax made clutch important catches down the stretch and is only a rookie

David Tyree (B+) all I have to say is "the catch" special teams demon very imprtant player

Dom Hixon (A-) very good at KR always put us in good field position did everything and much more then expected of him, rarely used as a reciever although

Sinorice Moss (inc) never used sits on the bench have to wonder why with all his talent , maybee best trade this 4.23, speed, fast little smurf reciever/scatback

Next up the OLINE

THE KNOCK ON JACOBS
Brandon Jacobs is a "Man Child" heres the proof, To read the complete story, click here.

Jacobs the intimidator hopefully I posted this right tell me what u think of this video...

[/reply By Jacob's critic]

If you notice when he hits that Green Bay corner he "Jacob's" has a seem that could gain him affectively up to 4 to 5 more yards to his left, ......but would create a collision with the LB'er AJ Hawk!!!

He opts to lower his head and take on the CB only picking up 2 yards,......and if he outweights that corner, ....then tell me why is he taken off his feet? And NOT keep running on?

He dont look like he absorbed any shock from the hit?

my opinion?
DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE

Jacobs needs to work on his balance, ON his first step even if that means lose 15 to 25 pounds to become more felexible in pivoting off his hips ~~ Thus reaching top speed faster , and he needs to read his blockers better and stop thinking like a LB'er tackling and punishing the would be tackler with all his might, and just lower the shoulder and keep it moving!~

**** P.S. I dont dislike Jacobs, I want him to fullfill expectations more than anyone. But he was making me sick during the Superbowl lowering his head burying it in GIANTS OffTackle David Diehl's back ~taking two yard runs, when he had the entire sideline sealed off by Diehl that would've easily resulted in at least an 11 yard gain!

Friday, 15 February 2008

there is alot of arguments on Shockey all over the net and newspaper as whether the GMEN are a better team without him--->

DON'T YOU KNUCKLEHEADS FORGET THAT!

So many of you make me sick with talk of trading Shock. Sit down and shut your pie hole!
it is VERY REAL! the rumors abroad--->

In my opinion:

TO TRADE SHOCKEY OR NOT

guess what fella's it isn't up to us....................In my opinion if we're going to use a dual tight end like the Pigskins did in the Joe Gibbs glory era I can defentely see the benefits of keeping Shockey as I think he would excell in a Offset H-back to help run support off Left tackle and we all know Shockey's pass catching potential, there is no doubt that Eli has a chemistry with Kevin Boss and he should be groomed in the more traditional TE role

With our OLINE getting older and no true pusinshing road graders on our left side
(we're a get a hat on a defender, more than a zone blocking unit that gives ->the RB a two way go system)

*** I think it's invevitable next year to show different faces bringing in deep threat specialist Hixon as he's being groomed, rookie sensation Smith, scatback and maybee Westerbrook clone Bradshaw

as well as mix and match with our fullback hedgecock on occasion (although with Shockey @ H-Back and Boss at TE , .....it limits the need for any blocking back) mixing back fields of Jacobs with Bradshaw, Jacobs alone, Bradshaw alone , Ward (if we resign him) alone and Ward with Bradshaw.

****If we're NOT going to use Shockey in this manner, and he's too talented to sit and not be in 75% of our offensive plays----> thus sitting Boss to the bench which I think is a big mistake and NOT USE them Together!!!

Then we are better off to yes pulling the trigger and trading Shockey, but NOT for Oucho Cinco SORRY

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

in conclusion:

Boss cant sit because he has to develope , better with Shockey around than NOT. If you have read my post here, You would know I'm more FOR KEEPING Shockey than trading him@!
